PFA deliver Take Control Workshop to Blues u23s
The PFA's Education team delivered a Take Control Workshop to Birmingham City's under 23 Development Squad yesterday.
The workshop delivered by Oshor Williams and Paul Raven, aims to raise awareness for the young players of the need to be pro-active in their own wider development both during and after football.
The simple philosophy of 'Take Control' is that players (especially young players) must look after their; WELLBEING (physical, emotional, psychological including lifestyle choices), FINANCIAL WELLBEING (personal finances, investments) CAREER PLANNING (explore parallel career pathways, develop new and existing skills, have a backup plan).
The hope is that, in addressing these three areas players will feel empowered in taking control of their own future. Each of the key areas explored are available as more detailed stand-alone workshops on request by club staff or by the players themselves.
Oshor Williams stated after the session: "The talented players who attended yesterday's workshop engaged enthusiastically in all the activities and were a credit to themselves and the club."
