Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi and Heather O’Reilly awarded PFA Community Champion awards

Alex Iwobi

Forward Alex Iwobi and former United States international Heather O’Reilly have been awarded PFA Community Champion awards for Arsenal’s men’s and women’s teams respectively.

In his first full season with the Arsenal team, Iwobi demonstrated his charitable nature throughout the year. He joined other Arsenal teammates in donating a day’s wages to The Arsenal Foundation last December and supported the Arsenal for Everyone matchday against Hull City. A game dedicated to celebrating diversity at Arsenal.

He was also prevalent in visiting several community projects. Often appearing at the Arsenal Hub, which is home of Arsenal in the Community, as well travelling to the estates football programme at Elthorne Park.

Heather O'Reilly

Heather has inspired many of the young people she has worked with over the past year. Like Iwobi, she was a frequent visitor at the Arsenal Hub. She was ever present when working and supporting Arsenal girls’ football groups, as well as helping with girls’ football teams around the clubs training ground in Hertfordshire.

The PFA would like to congratulate Alex and Heather for their support and commitment to the community.
