PFA Statement: Barry Bennell
The Professional Footballers' Association welcomes the decision from the court today.
We would like to acknowledge the remarkable bravery and courage that all the victims have shown, not only to speak out, but to testify in court and bring this individual to justice.
The PFA continues to support survivors of sexual abuse and encourages anyone else who may have suffered, if they are ready to do so, to speak with the police.
We would also like to recognise the significant contributions of The Offside Trust and SAVE Association, they have been central in the fight for justice of the survivors and instrumental in raising awareness of historic child sexual abuse.
The thoughts of everyone at the PFA go to all the victims and their families at this difficult time.
